How dull life would be if we never took chances.  Sometimes we take small ones like putting a dollar in a slot machine.  Other times we take big ones like quitting a job or starting a new relationship.

I took a chance today.  I quit the job that’s been draining my soul to accept a new job with fabulous people who share my values and are doing some amazing things to change and save lives.

While my end goal has been to stop working for others and create my own successful business, I couldn’t say no to this opportunity.  Instead of choosing A or B, I choose both.  It’s that abundance consciousness thing.

I also see that my previous ideas around “my business” have new and bigger potential by working closely with this new group of people.  It’s not “me” and “my business.”  It’s “us” and “our mission.”

Ultimately, none of us can do anything alone.  We all need other people to support us toward our goals and dreams.  And I love being able to support others on their quest toward theirs.  Sometimes our goals and dreams start to look like the same things as we all work together.

Since I know that I’m here on this planet to help and support others, before taking this chance I asked myself how I can best help as many people as possible, given where I am and the choices in front of me.  While I’ll still be growing my own business on the side, I can be part of a team that will positively impact millions of people in a short period of time.  And that makes me happy.

Working with these kinds of people and this kind of organization, it really isn’t a job anymore.  It’s a mission, a cause.  Something I want to work hard for.

While some may say that I’m taking a chance by giving up a “safe and secure” job for something that isn’t quite up and running yet, I would agree in some respects.  But it’s definitely a chance worth taking.  I’m getting my soul back. I’m feeling great about what I’m doing every day.  And the potential upside (monetarily as well as emotionally and spiritually) is huge.

And I don’t want to take the chance of missing out on something fan-tabulous by staying where I am.

We all know that there’s no such thing as “safe and secure” in the world anymore.  The economy has hit the industry I’ve been working in very hard and things aren’t looking any better.  Nothing in life is guaranteed.

Why not take a chance on something you know in your heart is a great thing?  Even when your logical monkey mind dreams up a million reasons you should stay “safe” where you are.  Truly, staying where you are is the most dangerous place to be.  As the saying goes:  The only constant is change.

Learn to be OK with the constant change by taking chances as often as possible.  Yes, it’s tough but it makes for an awesome life!

What kind of chance are you going to take today?  What kind of baby step will you take today to move toward the life you’ve really wanted?

Create the life you want: Combine the law of attraction with mindfulness

The law of attraction suggests that our positive or negative thoughts bring about positive or negative experiences.  My latest book, The Mindful Guide to Law of Attraction, pairs that belief with the powerful practices of mindfulness. Through intentional breathing, writing, and engaging, you’ll hone a method for manifesting health, wealth, and love―the elements of happiness.

Let the law of attraction work for you by adopting its basic steps of identifying and visualizing the things you desire. Then use 45 practical meditation techniques included in the book to achieve awareness. By concentrating your positive energy on obtaining your wants, you’ll give yourself permission to receive them.

To your happiness!  ~Paige
